About The College
Welcome to Calman Coláiste (College), a Specialist Independent 16-25 college providing further education for autistic young adults with additional learning disabilities and complex needs. We benefit from a large 20 acre site with a functional learning hub with catering, horticulture, creative arts and animal husbandry provision. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will be an integral part of the family at Calman College. Your day‑to‑day duties may include:
- Building strong and meaningful relationships with students, adapting to each student’s way of learning.
- Supporting the Class Tutor and reviewing the progress of each student.
- Assisting in implementing programmes devised by a multi‑disciplinary team, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Educational Psychologists.
- Supporting access to curriculum and vocational work to ensure positive outcomes in line with personal targets.
- Contributing to the development of students through the provision of a healthy lifestyle and a variety of appropriate stimulating activities.
- Supporting students to develop communication skills using methods appropriate to their abilities.
- Enabling work experience and volunteering opportunities onsite and in the local community.
This role is Monday to Friday during term time.
