About The College

Welcome to Calman Coláiste (College), a Specialist Independent 16-25 college providing further education for autistic young adults with additional learning disabilities and complex needs. About You

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will be an integral part of the family at Calman College. Your day‑to‑day duties may include:

  • Building strong and meaningful relationships with students, adapting to each student’s way of learning.
  • Supporting the Class Tutor and reviewing the progress of each student.
  • Assisting in implementing programmes devised by a multi‑disciplinary team, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Educational Psychologists.
  • Supporting access to curriculum and vocational work to ensure positive outcomes in line with personal targets.
  • Contributing to the development of students through the provision of a healthy lifestyle and a variety of appropriate stimulating activities.
  • Supporting students to develop communication skills using methods appropriate to their abilities.
  • Enabling work experience and volunteering opportunities onsite and in the local community.
Working Hours

This role is Monday to Friday during term time.
