Nordex is looking for a Wind Turbine Service Technician based at Millennium Windfarm in Inverness-Shire.
Contract Type:
Permanent.
Location:
Millennium Windfarm, Inverness-Shire.
Hours:
Core hours 37 per week (Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Friday 8am – 1pm). Overtime and on-call coverage required. Candidates must live within an hour of the windfarm.
- On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
- Work closely with technicians and back office staff to perform on‑job demonstrations
- Support on‑site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
- Provide on‑site software and hardware updates
- Support online and phone technical support
- Create reports on turbine or turbine components
- Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
- Experience working in the mechanical or electrical industry with knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
- Mechanical or electrical training at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Ability to identify and define problems, extract information from technical data, and develop workable solutions
- Adaptability to continuous change and varied challenges
- Positive attitude with willingness to learn, lead and improve continuously
- Computer literacy and confidence in using MS Office, in‑house databases and workload management systems
- Fit for working at heights up to 140m, able to pass a working at height test
- Ready to travel occasionally, including nights away from home
- Full UK or EU driving licence required
- 33 days annual leave including bank holidays; an additional day per annum after two years’ continuous service (maximum 5 days) and a birthday day off; option to purchase up to 5 days of additional annual leave each year
