We are looking for a proactive Environmental Advisor to support the SSENT Framework, working on key projects including Loch na Cathrach Pumped Storage Hydro and Fasnakyle to Bingally. In this role, you’ll work closely with site and engineering teams to ensure environmental considerations are built into day‑to‑day delivery.
You will play a key role in supporting project delivery by identifying risks, solving environmental challenges, and working closely with site and engineering teams to keep projects safe, compliant, and on programme.

- Play a hands‑on role in keeping projects moving safely and efficiently
- Gain exposure to how major infrastructure projects are built and delivered
- Bring a background from environmental, engineering, construction, or similar disciplines.
- Support compliance with environmental legislation, planning conditions, and permits while helping teams deliver works efficiently
- Work closely with project and engineering teams to provide practical, real‑time advice on site issues
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to the CEMP and project controls.
- Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to resolve issues and keep projects progressing
- Carry out inspections, audits, and reporting, using findings to drive improvements and prevent future issues
- Use data, tracking tools, and site insight to identify trends, mitigate risks, and avoid delays to programme.
- Degree in environmental, engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience) and membership of (or working towards) IEMA, CIEEM, or similar (ISEP/PISEP desirable)
- Experience in an environmental role, construction, infrastructure, engineering, or environmental roles within a site‑based environment, within construction, renewable energy, or major infrastructure projects (preferably in Scotland)
- Understanding of environmental requirements and ability to apply them practically on site, (environmental legislation, planning conditions, and SEPA permitting)
- Experience implementing and monitoring CEMP and environmental management systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills
, with the ability to balance environmental requirements with delivery needs - Confident communicator who can work effectively with project teams, clients, regulators, and stakeholders
- Experience working in complex or constrained environments (environmental sensitivity beneficial)
- Skilled in inspections, audits, and environmental reporting within a SHEQ framework
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel for tracking, analysing, and reporting data
- Experience using digital systems to support delivery and decision‑making
- GIS knowledge is advantageous.
