Specialist Physiotherapist – Acute Medicine for the Elderly
We are delighted to invite an enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist to join our Acute Medicine for the Elderly team at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, as part of NHS Scotland.
Role OverviewThe post is part‑time and will form part of the multidisciplinary team delivering 12‑hour day shifts over 7 days. It will focus predominantly on frailty assessment beds and the initiation of comprehensive geriatric assessment, with flexibility depending on service need.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct frailty assessments and provide early interventions to support timely discharge and prevent avoidable admission.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and deliver comprehensive geriatric assessment.
- Collaborate with acute and community settings to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
- Contribute to service development within a fast‑paced, changing health and social care system.
- Excellent clinical skills in physiotherapy, with particular expertise in frailty.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Desire to engage in service development and improvement.
Formal and informal supervision is available, and individual development through performance review and CPD activity is actively encouraged.
