General Porter
As a general porter you will be required to undertake portering duties on a day-to-day basis to ensure an efficient, effective and safe service to wards and departments/patients and to deliver the highest standard of Service (Portering) within the Raigmore site.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills.
You must also be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
A driving licence is essential for this post as you will be expected to drive a van up to 3.5 tonnes and the small catering and portering vans/cars.
Applicants must be well educated, have a smart appearance and good customer communication skills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
