- Independently perform and report comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards.
- Undertake advanced cardiac ultrasound investigations including contrast echocardiography, stress studies, and provide support for transoesophageal echocardiography where competent.
- Deliver highly specialised clinical interpretation and effectively communicate significant findings to referring clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the echocardiography service, focusing on effective patient flow and service delivery.
- BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Accreditation.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP), AHCS Register or equivalent professional body.
- Knowledgeable of NHS Scotland clinical governance frameworks.
- Understands the Equality Act 2010, Health and Safety legislation, information governance, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Ideally, candidates should have experience using GE ultrasound and reporting stations.
