An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ophthalmology team at the National Treatment Centre – Highland (NTC-H) as a Band 3 Ophthalmology Assistant.
This is a varied and patient-focused role, supporting the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality ophthalmic care. You will work across the Ophthalmology service, assisting with patient assessment, preparation and flow through a range of outpatient clinics and treatment pathways.
The role will involve undertaking a range of delegated clinical and technical duties following appropriate training and competency assessment. You will work closely with registered nurses, specialist practitioners, optometrists, medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and caring individual who enjoys working with patients and as part of a busy team. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work effectively within a fast-paced clinical environment and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Previous experience within Ophthalmology would be advantageous but is not essential. Training and competency-based development will be provided to support you in developing the knowledge and skills required for the role.
