Role

Purpose:

Provides technical and operational support to the IT & Communications function, helping to ensure company systems, networks, communications and technology services remain secure, reliable and available to support business operations. Work closely with the IT & Comms Lead, employees, contractors and operational teams to provide a reliable and responsive IT service across operations. Ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of company technology and communications systems and provides additional departmental cover when required.

Core Responsibilities:

· IT Support & Service Delivery – provide day-to-day technical support to employees and contractors, resolving hardware, software, account and connectivity issues and ensuring a responsive and professional IT service.

· Systems, Networks & Infrastructure – support the maintenance and monitoring of IT infrastructure across island and mainland locations, including networks, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi and communications systems; troubleshoot faults and coordinate external support where required.

· Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services – support the administration of Microsoft 365 and associated cloud services, including user accounts, permissions, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive and user onboarding and offboarding.

· Cyber Security & Data Protection – support cyber security controls, access and device security, system updates and the response to security alerts and incidents, in line with company information security and data protection requirements.

· Hardware, Devices & Communications – configure, deploy and maintain laptops, mobile devices, communications equipment and other IT hardware, including asset records, repairs, replacements and equipment lifecycle management.

· AV & Operational Technology – support the operation and maintenance of AV and technology systems across the Project, including meeting rooms, displays and presentation equipment.

· Projects, Systems & Continuous Improvement – support IT and communications projects and the introduction of new systems and technology, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, security, efficiency and user experience.

· Documentation & Records – maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, system information, asset records and IT procedures.

· Deputy & Departmental Support – support the IT & Comms Lead with the day-to-day operation of the function, providing departmental cover and assisting with priorities, suppliers and contractors where required.

· Operational Support & Safety – work safely and flexibly across island and mainland locations, supporting operational priorities and responding to urgent or business-critical IT and communications issues when required.
Person Specification
Essential
Previous experience in an IT support, systems administration, infrastructure or similar technical role.
Experience providing user support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, account and connectivity issues.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 or similar cloud-based environments, including user accounts, permissions and access.
Experience supporting networks, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, laptops, mobile devices and associated IT equipment.
Experience maintaining technical documentation, procedures and IT asset records.
Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent technical issues.
Desirable
Experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra , SharePoint, Teams and One Drive.

Experience with cyber security, endpoint protection, access controls and security incidents or alerts.
Experience supporting IT infrastructure projects, communications, AV, CCTV or other operational technology.
Experience working with third-party IT suppliers and service providers.
Experience providing technical guidance or support to other IT team members.
Experience working in a remote, rural or multi-site operational environment.
