Wise Mentoring CIC is a Community Interest Company supporting children in the North East of Glasgow through character education and mentoring. We run weekly group and 1:1 mentoring sessions for children aged 9‑11, drop‑in sessions for previous attendees, family days, and we are developing downloadable WISEbooks for the public by the end of 2026.
Role: Volunteer Translators and Proofreaders (Remote)
Languages to support: Arabic, Cantonese, Czech, Slovakian, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Azerbaijani, Hausa, Tamil, Urdu, Farsi, Dutch, German, Gaelic, and any other language not currently listed. Proofreaders are especially needed for French, Japanese, Cantonese, Polish, Malaysian, Arabic, Hindi, Greek, and Bengali.
Experience required- Ability to work independently and creatively.
- Knowledge of a language other than English listed above and ability to translate text.
No travel required; this is a remote volunteering opportunity. Volunteers must have a working laptop/computer.
Availability- Monday to Sunday
- Morning, Afternoon, Evening
This opportunity is flexible, but we encourage at least 2 hours of volunteering per week.
SupportVolunteers will receive induction to introduce them to the organisation, translation resources, and internal file drives.
RestrictionsVolunteers must have adequate levels of literacy to engage in written translation work.
Additional InformationVolunteers aged 16‑25 are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
