We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our client's manufacturing operation in Inverness. This position is responsible for leading maintenance activities within a designated area of the plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective asset performance.
Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental Management- Provide strong EHS leadership to direct reports.
- Ensure safe systems of work are developed, implemented, and adhered to.
- Maintain plant and environmental equipment in a safe and compliant condition.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and reinforce safe working practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and company standards.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to maximise asset availability and performance.
- Work with the Maintenance Planner to schedule routine work at least two weeks in advance and major shutdowns up to six months in advance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programmes.
- Utilise predictive and condition‑based maintenance techniques.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor maintenance performance metrics and provide structured feedback to the team.
- Promote operator asset care initiatives.
- Optimise equipment lifecycle costs through effective decision‑making.
- Develop and manage workforce resource plans.
- Control contractor usage and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
- Manage maintenance expenditure within allocated budgets.
- Review and manage spare parts inventory requirements.
- Support risk management and contingency planning processes.
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance personnel.
- Implement individual development plans and support skills progression.
- Encourage effective communication and collaboration across departments.
- Communicate KPIs and operational performance clearly to the team.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance improvement programmes.
- Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong mechanical maintenance background (electrical knowledge advantageous).
- Experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Demonstrable experience in structured maintenance planning.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis.
- Budget and contractor management experience.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to compliance.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
- Structured and proactive approach to work planning.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on performance improvement.
- High standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
