Business Support Manager; Psychology
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Support Manager to join our Psychology Services Department and play a vital role in shaping its strategic and operational success. This is a fantastic opportunity for a forward‑thinking professional to bring their expertise in business management, policy implementation, and project leadership to a high‑impact role within NHS Highland.
Working closely with the Senior Service Manager (Psychology), Director of Psychology, and Associate Directors of Psychology, you will be instrumental in contributing to and implementing key policies across the department. You will also take the lead in managing specific programmes of work, creating and implementing systems and processes, driving efficiency and innovation, and overseeing a small but dedicated administrative team.
We are looking for a highly organized, pragmatic, and self‑motivated manager with the ability to influence at all levels and build strong cross‑organisation relationships. Your extensive background in business and marketing will be invaluable in designing and implementing systems and processes that enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
In this role, you will have the autonomy to manage your workload with minimal supervision, prioritising tasks and making operational decisions that support the Psychology Department’s growth and success.
While certain responsibilities follow established procedures, there will be ample opportunity to use your initiative, solve problems creatively, and drive continuous improvement.
Experience in line management, project management, and change management, particularly within a healthcare setting, will be a distinct advantage, as will a positive, proactive approach to work. While this role does not carry budgetary responsibility, a working knowledge of finance and accounting would be beneficial.
This is a hybrid location role and you will be expected to regularly work from a mixture of home and Inverness area office locations.
