Terminal Operations Manager – Inverness About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Terminal Operations Manager to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our Inverness terminals.
This is a senior operational leadership role with responsibility for managing terminal performance across health, safety, operational excellence, customer service, financial performance and people development. You will play a key role in ensuring our terminals operate to the highest industry standards while delivering outstanding service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities Operational LeadershipLead the day-to-day management of the Inverness terminals.
Ensure safe, compliant and efficient terminal operations at all times.
Maintain compliance with all company policies, industry regulations and legislative requirements.
Drive operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and improve operational KPIs and service delivery.
Champion a strong safety culture across both terminals.
Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the site's Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) and Safety Management System.
Ensure compliance with all HSE legislation and company standards.
Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Manage contractor compliance and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental performance.
Maintain robust emergency preparedness, risk management and operational assurance processes.
Develop and manage operational, maintenance, CAPEX and revenue budgets.
Monitor expenditure and financial performance against budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.
Produce accurate forecasts and financial reports.
Support business growth by identifying commercial opportunities and operational efficiencies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
Ensure contracted service levels are consistently achieved.
Communicate proactively with customers regarding operational performance.
Support commercial opportunities and future business development.
Drive continuous improvement in customer service and operational performance.
Lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams across both terminals.
Recruit, coach and develop employees to maximise capability and engagement.
Manage performance, succession planning and training programmes.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Support effective communication through regular team briefings and performance reviews.
You'll be an experienced operations leader with a proven track record of managing complex operational environments.
You'll also bring:
Strong leadership and people management experience.
A genuine commitment to health, safety and environmental excellence.
Commercial awareness with experience managing operational budgets.
Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong customer relationship management skills.
Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, together with operational management systems.
Experience with in the fuel, energy, logistics, chemicals, manufacturing or other COMAH-regulated industries would be highly advantageous.
