Inverness-shire, Highland | Permanent | Full-Time
The Opportunity
NT Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be working with our Process Manufacturing client in the Inverness area. This is a large industrial process site that runs hard, produces at pace and takes real pride in what it makes. They are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join the team and help keep the operation running at its best.
This is a proper engineering role - planned and reactive maintenance across a busy heavy industrial site, working closely with production, and playing a real part in driving continuous improvement. If you're someone who takes ownership, thinks logically under pressure and wants to develop your career in a site that genuinely values its engineers, this is worth a look.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across all plant and equipment on site
* Responding to breakdowns and fault-finding quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
* Working closely with production teams to match equipment availability with demand
* Identifying and implementing continuous improvement activities across the site
* Keeping accurate maintenance records via the Emaint CMMS system
* Supporting and mentoring junior maintenance staff
* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with H&S regulations
What We're Looking For
* Apprentice-trained or equivalent — City & Guilds, HNC or similar in mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled engineering
* 3+ years post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
* Process, FMCG, food manufacturing or similar is very welcome
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
* Electrical bias preferred but strong mechanical engineers will absolutely be considered
* Self-starter who can work on their own initiative and as part of a team
* A practical, can-do attitude and genuine pride in doing the job properly
