Location: Inverness Engineering Yard. Please be aware there may be a requirement to work away from home at different site locations on occasions, and at short notice.
Role Highlights:Gael Force Group specialise in the building of marina pontoons, breakwaters, designing and building of feed barge operations and other aquaculture related engineering activities.
What we’re looking for:We are looking for experienced Fabricator/Welders who are reliable and hardworking, self‑motivated, able to demonstrate an ability to work safely and conscientiously on their own initiative either alone or as part of a team. You should also have a high regard for Health and Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- To ensure that the drawings and details on the Fabrication Production Control Form are fully understood and that the materials supplied conform with the details.
- To assist in the production of relevant shop floor procedures.
- To ‘tack weld’ the assembly, carefully following the procedure and check against the drawing prior to welding.
- Ensure all dimensional accuracies and that the fabrication is truly formed to the requirements of the drawing.
- Be able to use a variety metal cutting and processing techniques.
- Fully check all welds and dimensions prior to having the Chargehand or nominated fabricator sign off the Fabrication Production Control Form.
- To finish the fabrication to the standard stated on the Fabrication Production Control Form.
- Carry out 100% visual inspection of their own weld as per QD 3005 (Weld Visual Inspection Training Pack).
- Nominated fabricators will be required to carry out dimensional checks as required to sign QF 3200 Production Form.
- To assist at all times in ensuring the shop is maintained clean, tidy and safe for all employees to work.
- Experience in interpreting and fabricating to engineering drawings and sketches.
- An excellent understanding of welding procedures.
- Ability to MIG/MAG, GSFCAW, MMA and/or TIG weld.
- Driving Licence.
Standard working hours are 7am – 15:30pm (Mon – Thurs) and 7am – 14:30pm (Fri) with overtime available.
