Overview
The RAF Student Nurse entry program prepares you to become an RAF Registered Nurse, providing direct nursing care in a range of clinical settings. The program includes basic training, undergraduate professional training, and ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities- Provide primary healthcare to service personnel and families.
- Deliver secondary healthcare services.
- Assist with aeromedical evacuation (transfer of patients by air).
- GCSE grade C/4‑5 (or equivalent) in Maths, English and science subjects.
- 120 UCAS points from higher education (not including predicted grades).
- Age 17 to 47 (must attest before 48th birthday).
- Meet nationality and residency criteria as set out by the RAF.
- Commit to a minimum of 12 years of service.
- Meet health and fitness standards and pass a fitness test.
- Desirable: prior nursing or caring experience with reference.
After basic training, you will undertake undergraduate professional training as a Student Nurse (Adult) at Birmingham City University. The training programme includes:
- On qualification as RN(A), you will maintain currency in clinical practice and undertake continuous professional development.
Subsidised food, travel and accommodation.
