Staff Nurse Inverness Blood Donor Centre Permanent post - 30 hours per week

Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

As a member of a multi‑disciplinary team the post holder will provide nursing and managerial support to the nurse in charge in order to ensure effective day‑to‑day management and direction of the department.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward‑thinking nurse who enjoys working as part of a team. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. An active interest in training and quality assurance would also be beneficial. Within your role you will contribute to the overall management and smooth running of whole blood and blood component sessions ensuring donors feel welcome, comfortable and valued.

You will be required to undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency. Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.

The position is based in Inverness Blood Donor Centre at Raigmore Hospital. Extensive travel throughout the region is required. The working pattern for this post is Monday to Sunday, 30 hours per week, and will include late evenings. You must be flexible and willing to work variable hours. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
