An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse to join the Paediatric Day Case Unit within the Highland Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital on a fixed term/secondment contract until April 2027.

The Paediatric Day Case Unit is a six‑beded facility providing care for children aged 0-16 years requiring paediatric day‑case surgery, as well as day‑case medical investigations and treatments. Surgical specialties supported by the unit include general paediatric surgery, urology, ENT, orthopaedics, dental and plastic surgery. The unit operates Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 18:00.

In addition to day‑case activity, the team delivers a range of outpatient clinics, including phlebotomy (bloods) clinics, pre‑assessment clinics and allergy skin prick testing.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, family‑centred care, supporting children and young people through their day‑case journey. The role involves clinical assessment, preparation for procedures, recovery care and providing information and reassurance to children and their families. Applicants must hold a Degree or Diploma in Children’s Nursing and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the Children’s Nursing field of practice.

Part‑time hours will be considered.
