As a Sales Assistant you’ll support the store team by driving sales performance and handling day‑to‑day operational tasks, while delivering exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.
Key Responsibilities- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting the team to meet and exceed targets through a focus on KPI delivery.
- Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to build loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with product updates and tasting opportunities.
- Sell the story rather than the discount, sharing passion for product with an in‑depth knowledge of the range.
- Take ownership of wine knowledge, continuously learning and supporting your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
- Maintain the physical appearance and upkeep of the store, both internally and externally.
- Perform all operational tasks required for day‑to‑day store running – from delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries to calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve store operations and propose solutions to the wider team.
- Ensure compliance with safety, legal and internal policy requirements, completing mandatory training.
- Provide support to junior team members, feeding back to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- Act as a key holder, understanding opening and closing compliance and being able to operate the store independently.
- Excellent time‑management, delegation and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver exceptional customer experience to every customer.
- Self‑motivated, able to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
- Can‑do attitude, passion for solving problems and seeing projects through.
- Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever‑changing demands of the business.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Wine knowledge is beneficial; a passionate attitude to learn is essential to pass Level 2 WSET.
- Hold a full UK manual‑transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

40 hours per week. - Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Driving is a key part of the role – candidates must have a full UK manual driving licence.
