Our client, a leading FMCG manufacturer in Aberdeenshire, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer with strong electrical expertise to join their engineering team. This is a hands‑on role supporting a fast‑moving, high‑volume production environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring machinery uptime, site reliability, and delivering engineering improvements across the facility.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a busy manufacturing setting, enjoys problem‑solving, and is confident maintaining and improving a wide range of equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support across the site.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns in a timely and safe manner.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement long‑term corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and reliability initiatives.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with site health & safety policies, engineering standards, and statutory requirements.
- Participate in on‑call rota (if applicable).
- Maintain accurate engineering records and asset histories.
- Strong electrical maintenance background (17th/18th Edition preferred).
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar high‑speed production environment is essential.
- Knowledge of PLCs, automated machinery, and modern production equipment.
- Mechanical experience beneficial (e.g., conveyor systems, gearboxes, pneumatics).
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
- 18th Edition wiring regulations (or willingness to update).
