About the Role

As a Family Support Worker, you will be at the heart of our work with children and families. You will build trusted relationships with parents, carers, children and young people, helping them achieve positive outcomes and make lasting changes.

You could be involved in:

· Supporting children and young people to express their views and participate in decisions that affect them

· Working alongside families to develop routines, boundaries and positive parenting strategies

· Delivering direct work with children around feelings, relationships, wellbeing and safety

· Supervising family time and supporting meaningful family relationships

· Helping children and young people attend appointments, activities and educational opportunities

· Supporting families experiencing challenges such as mental health difficulties, domestic abuse, substance use or social isolation

· Working closely with Social Workers, schools, health professionals and third sector partners

· Contributing to assessments, plans and reviews through effective recording and communication

This is a hands on role where you will spend much of your time working directly with children and families in their homes, communities and local services.

· Has excellent communication and recording skills

· Is flexible, creative and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children

Experience working with children, young people or families is desirable. Most importantly, we want people who share our values and are committed to making a real difference.
