Qualifications:

• Michigan Department of Education approval as a School Social Worker is required
• Demonstrated understanding of school-based interventions for children in preschool and elementary grades
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to assess student needs and connect them with appropriate resources
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted social work services to students, addressing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges
• Develop and implement strategies and interventions tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate with educators, school psychologists, families, and support staff
• Participate in student support meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams, and school-wide initiatives
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress observed
• Promote a positive school climate through preventative and responsive programs
