Customs Entry Writer

Salary: $50k to $65k, depending on experience

  • At least one year of current experience in Customs Entries within the Freight Forwarding industry.
  • Valid visa to work in the USA (Visa/sponsorship not available).

Position overview:

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of international import transportation, import brokerage procedures, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements, including the clearance process, classification, and valuation.

This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and produce accurate workflow in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The candidate will manage accounts from start to finish, prepare all necessary documentation for customs clearance, provide excellent customer service, and perform tasks assigned by management to support team and department goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing Arrival Notices and setting up files.
  • Inputting data from agents and freight forwarders.
  • Filing customs entries for clearance.
  • Coordinating with Customs and government agencies to obtain releases.
  • Providing customer service.
  • Handling ISF filing and billing.
  • Managing documentation such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, and commercial packing lists.
  • Ensuring compliance with PGA guidelines and signing documents on behalf of clients using power of attorney.
