Purpose:
Are you passionate about agriculture and eager to spread that enthusiasm throughout Franklin County? Do you thrive in an independent, energetic work environment? Franklin County Farm Bureau is seeking an Outreach Coordinator who embodies these qualities and more.
Basic FunctionPerform communications and outreach duties on behalf of the County Farm Bureau. Duties involve County Farm Bureau coordination of events including; public outreach and event coordination, assist with and supplement Ag in the Classroom activities, communication with general membership, managing social media accounts, publishing articles for the Farm Bureau newsletter publication.
Essential Functions- Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities
- Research, prepare and submit articles to the Spokesman and local media; enter member advertisements
- Maintain a social media presence on important platforms
- Develop and coordinate outreach efforts as directed by the County Board of Directors
- Coordinate supplemental Ag in the Classroom opportunities within county school districts
- Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors including; preparation of documents and materials for the County Board of Directors meetings.
- Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business
- Membership data base updates and data mining
- Collect and process membership information or payments from renewing clients
There is an option for this role to be a larger role supporting the Farm Bureau Financial Services Agent in the office. Whether or not the candidate would like to take up this expanded role and functions will be up to the candidate!
- · Assist insurance clients with basic policy changes and billing questions
- · Maintain files and data management
- · Quote insurance products
- · Communicate with clients regarding basic policy maintenance
- Part time(20-30 hours depending on successful candidates preferences and availability)
- Based in Hampton, Iowa with programs conducted throughout Franklin County

What We’re Seeking:- Detail-oriented individuals committed to delivering high-quality, consistent work
- Organized and motivated self-starter
- Creative writing skills as an Editor of Franklin County Spokesman page
- Comfortable operating within a Microsoft Environment to support the works of the County Farm Bureau Board of Directors
- Proficient in navigating social media platforms
- Willing to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities
- Confident speakers that are comfortable addressing groups of various ages
- Enthusiastic about engaging with school and youth to promote agriculture in and out of the classroom
- Well-versed and interested in the agricultural industry
- Office phone coverage as needed
- Maintaining professional image of workspace and office
- Other duties as assigned
