President @ Kingland Construction | Building Northern Iowa, Southern MinnesotaAbout the Company: We are seeking a skilled and experienced project manager to oversee and manage construction projects within a 2 hour radius of Forest City, Iowa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction trades, supervising crews, and coordinating projects. As a project manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all safety and quality standards.
About the Role:A construction project manager (CPM) oversees the entire lifecycle of a building project, from initial planning and budgeting to final handover. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that a project is completed on time, within budget, and according to design specifications
. Key daily duties include creating detailed schedules, managing costs, procuring materials, and coordinating a diverse team of architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Additionally, CPMs act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, manage project risks and change orders, and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and building codes
.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from start to finish
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation and tracking
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met
- Develop project schedules and ensure timely completion of all tasks
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues or concerns
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure workmanship meets industry standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and vendors
- Bachelor's in construction management or equivalent in engineering or architecture. Or 15 years of superintendent experience in commercial construction.
- Proven experience as a crew leader, foreman, superintendent or similar role
- Proficiency in construction management software such as submittal exchange, Procore, Project, and construction accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and practices
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
