Bondurant-Farrar CSD is seeking an Art Teacher at Bondurant-Farrar Intermediate School (serving grades 5-6) for the 2025-26 school year. This position is posted as a .75 FTE with the option to go up to a 1.0 FTE, depending upon the preference of the successful candidate.

Hiring Specifications

• Valid State of Iowa teaching license, with appropriate endorsement(s) or certification(s)
  • K-8 Art (113)
  • 5-12 Art (114)
• Bachelor’s degree in a position-related area

Scope: To help students develop knowledge, skills, and talents that will contribute to their growth as productive citizens.

Reports to: Building Principal

Requirements: Meets licensure requirements of the Department of Education

Performance Responsibilities:

• Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a climate conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives.
• Employs methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
• Assesses the accomplishments of students regularly and provides progress reports.
• Maintains effective communication with the principal, students, and parents.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by the board or administration.
• Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance and support the implementation of the school district's student achievement goals.
• Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
• Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
• Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
• Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning.
• Demonstrates competence in classroom management.
• Engages in professional growth.
• Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district.
