Middle School Math Teacher (Grades 6-8)

West Monona Middle School is seeking a 6-8 Math Teacher for the remainder  school year.

West Monona Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher for grades 6–8 for the remainder 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, structured, and supportive instruction that promotes academic growth, critical thinking, and student confidence in mathematics.

This educator will create lessons aligned with district curriculum, support students’ academic and social development, and build strong relationships that foster belonging and success. The position requires collaboration with a committed team of educators and professional staff, as well as strong partnerships with families to support student progress and growth.

Education and Related Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Iowa teaching license or the ability to obtain the required certification or Class B license by the district’s start date

• Ability to use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
• Strong instructional planning and delivery aligned to district curriculum
• Ability to build effective and professional relationships with families, students, and colleagues

• Ability to collaborate with colleagues to plan and prepare instruction
• Commitment to professional growth at both the building and district levels

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment for all students
• Collaborate with grade-level, subject-area, and building teachers to enhance learning opportunities
• Develop and utilize curriculum and essential standards to meet student learning goals
• Maintain open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and school staff
• Prepare and deliver engaging and effective math lessons with fidelity
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
