Description

The Sr. Commissioning Program Manager will oversee all commissioning activities and responsibilities for data center delivery. This team member will be the ‘go to’ commissioning resource for all data centers across the portfolio for their region when commissioning execution advice is needed and will use their subject matter expertise as well as engage with diverse teams to meet the commitment of superior service to the clients.

As a Commissioning Program Manager overseeing commissioning of data centers, this team member will be overseeing projects to fit out data centers to meet ever‑evolving client’s needs as we continue expanding our fleet to support hyper‑scale and beyond.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position carries commissioning program responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: scheduling, testing, equipment coordination, commissioning agent oversight, vendor management, testing coordination and handover. Position also requires mentoring and training as well as recruiting support to facilitate business growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess new designs for commissionability
  • Develop commissioning RFPs to contract 3rd party commissioning agents
  • Support contracting 3rd party commissioning agents in alignment with policies, legal procedures and finance
  • Collaborate with construction and contractors on build strategy in support of commissioning
  • Collaborate with CxA's, QC and Integration for commissioning planning and execution
  • Interface with construction and CxA's to develop schedules and testing plans
  • Support and oversee fit‑outs and retro‑fit commissioning
  • Enforce thecommissioning program and customer delivery requirements
  • Oversee 3rd party commissioning agents
Other Duties
  • Support Integration and QC during commissioning
  • Oversee commissioning of multiple sites
  • Must be organized and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)
  • Mentor and develop as needed to maintain a superior service to each client.
  • Be inclined to get into the field to see things up close
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget
  • Possess leadership and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience using a variety of web based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or commissioning of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
  • Experience managing or overseeing 3rd party contractors.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for a region.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards
  • Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: LV and MV transformers, uninterruptable power sources, diesel generators, electrical switch gear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers [air‑cooled and water‑cooled], pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc…)
  • EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware)
  • Have fluent knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical and mechanical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems and building management systems. (Including but not limited to: uninterruptable power sources, AC/DC conversion, P&, diesel generators systems and other complex arrangements, direct evaporative cooling systems, etc…)
  • Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects
  • Previous ownership of fast‑track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects
  • Meets/exceeds Company’s Culture Code requirements for this role
