** Senior Transportation Engineer
** to work in either our
** Chicago/Naperville, IL,
** R
* * ockford, IL,
** or
** Bettendorf, IA
** office. As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff. This could be technical, project management, marketing or business development in nature.
** Principal Responsibilities*
* · Lead design efforts for the analysis of complex transportation projects, including highway, bridges, transit systems, and multimodal transportation networks
· Responsible for Transportation design including with project team and providing the team with advanced technical oversight
· Performs site assessments and generates detailed analysis and technical reports
· Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively;
Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
· Provide in-process design reviews of transportation infrastructure design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence;
Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
· Provide technical training and mentoring;
Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff
· Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work;
Interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
· Lead project interviews and project presentations
** Required Skills/Abilities*
* · Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
· Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills for transportation planning, engineering design, and regulatory processes
· Advance knowledge with local, state, and federal transportation regulations, environmental, policies, and permitting procedures
· Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
· Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
· Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
· Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Ability to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight stays
** Education and Experience*
* · Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
· Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
· 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
