The Cedar Rapids Design Center is looking for motivated students with interest in Analog integrated circuit (IC) design. You will work side by side with a mentor, growing your skills on real products that will end up in next‑generation cellular phones.
Responsibilities- Design analog circuit blocks including charge pumps, bandgap references, voltage regulators, op‑amps, serial interface buffers and drivers, current and voltage digital‑to‑analog converters (DACs), temperature sensors, level shifters, and other analog building blocks.
- Compile results in design review slides and present them to the engineering team.
- Set up and debug simulation test benches.
- Improve our analog design process by applying our latest IC design automation tools to your development process.
- A positive, can‑do attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. program studying Electrical Engineering with a focus on analog or RF circuit design.
- Able to commit to the Summer and Fall 2026 Co‑Op Program which goes from June/July to December 2026.
- Strong knowledge of analog design.
- Familiar with Cadence Virtuoso, SPICE, or similar simulation tools to assist in design evaluation and debugging.
- Completed coursework in Analog CMOS design.
- Exposure to lab tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeters.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 – $47.50 per hour and for a Non‑Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 – $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
