Overview

Our design team works with the largest companies in the world to transform how things are made. This role requires the application of engineering theories and related knowledge to design industrial ergonomic systems and automated tooling.
Responsibilities- Design complex welding and machining holding fixtures, robotic welding cells, special machines, and related jigs, dies, and fixtures.
- Complete 3D designs and assemblies for a variety of complex applications.
- Review 3D models for safety concerns, accuracy, and completion.
- Work concurrently on one or more projects of moderately complex scope.
- Create 2D detail prints, field sketches and layouts as assigned.
- Confer with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost.
- Apply algebraic and geometric formulas and standard tool engineering data to develop tool configuration.
- Select standard items such as bushings, clamps, shims, hydraulic components, electrical controls, and locating devices to incorporate into tool design.
- Prefer pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical design experience.
- Prefer robotic integration experience.
- Knowledge of Creo and/or Solid Works software required.
- Knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Suite preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical principles, understanding of 3D models, layout drawings and engineering specifications.
- Must be able to apply engineering theories and related knowledge to design industrial ergonomic systems and automated tooling.
- Must be able to successfully communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new techniques and technologies.
- Must possess planning and organizational skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direction.
- Must be dependable and reliable with a positive work history.
Associate’s degree, plus at least 3 years of experience and/or training in advanced tooling and fixture design utilizing parametric design software; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least two years of experience managing multiple projects.
