The team supports a specialized division focused on high-performance filtration and separation solutions for customers worldwide. The group provides installation support, custom equipment builds, repairs, and process optimization services. PositionSummary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, commissioning, start-up, and ongoing performance of company equipment at customer sites. This role leads on-site commissioning activities, conducts detailed inspections, and ensures systems operate safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. The position requires extensive travel and close collaboration with customers, vendors, and internal project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on-site start-up, commissioning, and optimization of mechanical and electrical systems
- Perform detailed equipment inspections and verify installations prior to operational handoff
- Collect, analyze, and document performance data during testing and commissioning
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment in the field
- Ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with design specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to meet project schedules
- Prepare clear technical documentation, service reports, and punch lists for project closeout
- Background in engineering, technical services, or a related field (degree preferred; equivalent experience considered)
- Minimum of 2 years of field service experience supporting mechanical and electrical systems, including high-speed rotating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Working knowledge of control panels, motor starters, AC/DC drives, and instrumentation
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to support customer and team interactions
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with extensive travel (up to 75%, including domestic and international assignments)
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and operator interface terminals (HMI/OIT systems)
