The Meskwaki Nation Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer. We are seeking problem-solving and community-oriented individuals willing to perform diverse tasks. We enforce state, local, federal, and tribal law. Within the first 2 years of employment, you will be certified as a federal law enforcement officer through the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and receive a Special Law Enforcement Commission.
Benefits- $5,000 sign on bonus for non-certified applicants
- $10,000 sign on bonus for certified applicants

- Vacation days: accrued 2 hours/week (3 hours per week after 5 years)

- Non-Certified applicants start at $27.56. Wage will increase to $33.08 after successful completion of our FTO program.

We have a drone program, K-9 Unit, Crisis/Hostage Negotiators, Defensive Tactics Instructors, Firearms Instructors, Open Sight Rifle Instructors, Less-Lethal Instructors, Taser Instructors, SFST Instructors, and Precision Driving Instructors. We place a heavy emphasis on training with a requirement of 40 hours per year. We routinely have officers with more than 100 hours of training in a year. We value the input of our officers.
