NASDA Part-time Field Enumerator - Emmet County

NASDA – National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking part‑time capable individuals to support our organization and provide a fulfilling experience for all employees. Prior experience in sales or agriculture, working with diverse personalities, and possessing basic mathematical skills are highly desirable.

As a Field Enumerator you will support agricultural producers by collecting accurate and unbiased data, providing essential information that farmers, ranchers, rural communities, and other agricultural businesses rely on. You will conduct interviews in a professional manner, communicate benefits in all survey activities, and perform crop counts in designated fields.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in‑depth interviews with a diverse range of agricultural operations in person and over the telephone.
  • Perform crop counts in designated fields.
  • Enter detailed data gathered from agricultural operators in a timely manner.
  • Report daily progress, time, and mileage.
Qualifications
  • Private workspace with a functional telephone and minimal distractions.
  • Personal vehicle for travel related to enumerator duties and ability to travel up to 250 miles on a quarterly basis.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and/or iPad usage.
  • Experience working in a deadline‑driven environment with multiple tasks.
  • Ability to examine crop status in corn or soybean fields.
  • Physical capability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. and walk unassisted on uneven ground up to 100 yards.
  • Must pass a background check.
