Mercy One Elkader Medical Center is a 25‑bed critical access hospital in Clayton County. The Emergency Department operates 24×7 with board‑certified physicians and advanced practitioners. The hospital is certified Level IV Trauma Center. This role seeks a Paramedic PRN to respond to 911 calls and interfacility transfers within the Central Ambulance service‑area.

Part‑time

Rotating Shift

• Respond to 911 calls and interfacility tiered transfer requests.
• Provide direct patient care in pre‑hospital and hospital settings, under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Initiate and provide care within scope of practice as defined by law (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
• Assist with delegated tasks in the emergency department.
• Cover on‑call hours as directed and per departmental need.

• Varies as PRN and calls.

• Licensed Paramedic in the State of Iowa, active licensure.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification.
• Completion of required continuing education every two years.

• Licensed State of Iowa Paramedic (required); must maintain active licensure.
• Complete required continuing education every two years.
• Current ACLS, PALS, BLS.
