The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Laboratory Technologist II in the Public Health Laboratory. This position is in MICROBIOLOGY. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification (in Microbiology) for up to four (4) months.
Responsible for performing and providing quality laboratory analysis of clinical and environmental samples in accordance with Southern Nevada Health District laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols.

Education, Training, and Experience- Equivalent to completion of three years of academic study, with a minimum of 90 semester hours from an accredited college or university with major course work in biology or physical science
- AND at least 12 months of training at a school of medical technology, as specified by State of Nevada regulations
- AND a minimum of three (3) years of responsible technical experience in a laboratory setting with two of those years in a public health laboratory preferred.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Nevada General Supervisor certification.
- Two (2) years experience in a Microbiology department preferred
