Outpatient Pharmacist | Orange , Iowa

A retail pharmacist position is available at a 340B retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital setting in Orange City, IA. This role involves managing outpatient prescriptions with an average daily volume of 140. The pharmacy operates under the Pioneer computer system and has a small staff consisting of one pharmacist and two technicians, with no PRN pharmacist coverage. On-call duties are rare.

Schedule/

Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM 6:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently in a retail outpatient setting
• Counsel patients on medication use and potential side effects
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with 340B program regulations and hospital policies
• Utilize the Pioneer pharmacy system for prescription processing and inventory management

Qualifications/Desired

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year recent retail or outpatient pharmacy experience required
• Active and clear Iowa pharmacist license
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a small team environment
