Position: Safety Coordinator / HR Generalist
Location: Cherokee

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Safety Coordinator / HR Generalist role in Cherokee, IA. Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and administer workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety training, orientations, audits, and incident investigations; track corrective actions and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation, including incident logs and training records.
  • Partner with leadership to promote a strong safety culture and proactive risk management.
  • Support HR functions including employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and policy compliance.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, new hire orientation, and employee training initiatives.
  • Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to support continuous improvement across safety and human resources functions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in safety coordination, HR generalist duties, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, and employment law.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
