We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer Observability & API Testing to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of APIs, microservices, and monitoring pipelines. The role involves validating application behavior using observability tools like Datadog, with strong manual and API testing expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Test REST APIs using Postman / Swagger and validate request-response payloads
- Perform manual functional, regression, and integration testing
- Validate logs, metrics, traces, and alerts using Datadog
- Ensure correct monitoring, dashboards, and alert configurations
- Test system behavior during failures (latency, downtime, error spikes)
- Verify data flow across services and environments (Dev, QA, Staging)
- Collaborate with Dev Ops and backend teams to identify root causes
- Validate deployments and post-release monitoring
- Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and defect reports
- Support UAT and production monitoring validation
- 8+ years of experience in Manual / API Testing
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI
- Experience working with Datadog (logs, metrics, APM, dashboards)
- Good understanding of microservices architecture
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment flows
Basic understanding of Dev Ops, cloud, and monitoring concepts - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with AWS / Azure monitoring
- Exposure to Kubernetes / Docker
- Basic SQL for backend validation
- Experience in production support or observability testing
