Anglo Gold Ashanti is seeking an experienced
Superintendent,
Health, Safety and Security (HSS) to lead and strengthen safety programs across our Nevada projects. This role ensures full compliance with all regulatory requirements while driving a proactive, behavior-based safety culture where every employee takes ownership of safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and standardization of Health, Safety & Security programs, procedures, and training across all Nevada sites.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including MSHA standards.
• Champion visible felt leadership and empower all employees with stop-work authority.
• Oversee behavior-based safety, risk assessment, and lifesaving controls programs.
• Deliver MSHA training, emergency response, and medical monitoring programs.
• Analyze incident data and use the Safety Management Information System (SMIS) to identify and address emerging risks.
• Conduct workplace inspections and support continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (ISHM or ABET-accredited institution preferred).
• Certified MSHA Instructor required; CSP or CSHM designation preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of health and safety leadership experience in the U.S. mining industry, ideally in Nevada.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA standards, behavior-based safety, and risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
• Valid driver’s license required to operate a company vehicle and access project sites.

• Strong understanding of gold mining and processing engineering principles, practices, and associated risks.
• Ability to analyze incident data to identify trends and proactively address root causes.
• Broad technical and managerial skill set relevant to small-scale surface mining operations.
• Sound understanding of the mining value chain and key risk drivers across operations.
