Key Responsibilities:

  • Component Preparation:
    Gather all necessary parts, components, and materials required for the sub‑assembly/assembly process. Select the correct parts, inspect them for defects, and organize them for assembly.
  • Assembly Process:
    Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, or diagrams to properly assemble the components into the designed assembly process using various power and hand tools, equipment, and techniques to ensure a quality product.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Collaborate with quality control teams to address discrepancies or quality concerns. Communicate findings effectively and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Testing:
    Conduct functional tests on products to verify performance as intended. Utilize testing equipment and follow testing procedures to validate product functionality and adherence to specifications.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection and testing results. Complete necessary paperwork or digital documentation to record outcomes and maintain traceability.
  • Teamwork/Cooperation:
    Collaborate with managers, supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, and peers to troubleshoot problems, suggest improvements, and contribute to overall material process flow. Communicate effectively regarding progress and issues.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Problem Solving:
    Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise. Think critically and find solutions to maintain smooth production flow.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: The shop environment may involve exposure to oil, fumes, moderate noise levels, and metal particles. Safety shoes, safety glasses, face masks, shields, and earplugs are required as needed.

  • Physical Endurance:
    Sufficient stamina to maintain productivity and focus during fast‑paced assembly work, often under time constraints, without compromising accuracy or safety.
  • Lifting and Carrying:
    Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, including components, tools, and finished products. Adhere to proper lifting techniques and safety procedures.
  • Standing and Walking:
    Capacity to stand and walk for a minimum of eight (8) hours throughout the workday.
  • Physical Flexibility:
    Flexibility to assume various positions such as bending, kneeling, or crouching when necessary for accessing and assembling components in tight spaces.
  • Dexterity and Hand-eye Coordination:
    Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to manipulate small parts, use hand tools, perform intricate assembly tasks, and follow assembly sequences accurately.
  • Repetitive Motions:
    Capability to perform repetitive motions such as grasping, twisting, and operating hand tools or machinery.
  • Vision:
    Good vision, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of hydraulics, process sheets, and blueprints
  • Ability to use hand tools and torque equipment
  • Forklift truck operation certification and other material handling equipment as needed
  • Advanced understanding of Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Dependable, exhibits initiative, accountability, and maximizes use of time
  • Mathematical and record-keeping skills; ability to follow written procedures and specifications
  • Basic PC/laptop experience helpful; MS Office use preferred
