Summary
A Production Worker 1st Shift Curtain at Engineering Services and Products Company reports to an area supervisor and is responsible for producing, fabricating, and assembling products while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This safety‑sensitive position requires handling a variety of machines and tools, including fabric cutters, power hand tools, quilters, saws, sewing machines, and other manufacturing machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Set up tools, sewing machines, saws, quilters, and materials needed for assembly and fabrication.
- Operate power and hand tools, fabric cutters, and other manufacturing machinery.
- Load and unload the workstation with tooling and product.
- Review work orders for instructions and special requirements.
- Measure, cut, and position materials for fabrication or assembly according to design drawings and work order instructions.
- Fabricate and assemble products.
- Inspect finished work for overall quality and identify errors; notify inspectors when required.
- Correct errors or rework as necessary.
- Prepare finished product for next assembly or transfer to another location as instructed.
- Support and practice safe equipment operation in adherence to ESAPCO safety procedures and regulations.
- Document work completed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety and OSHA regulations.
- Operating a sit‑down forklift as needed.
- Knowledge of corporate production methods and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and instructions.
- Proficiency in using power and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
- Handling of production raw materials.
- Skilled in following directions and problem solving.
- Appropriate communication skills.
- Ability to read, follow, and write instructions.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift certification a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to read and follow blueprints, interpret drawings, and use a tape measure.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to continuously stand, walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Various carrying, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crawling, and squatting required.
Work EnvironmentExposure to fluctuating indoor temperatures from cooler to warmer. Environment can be dry, dusty, humid, cold, or hot indoors and outdoors.
