Production Manager

This role will require physical work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. It involves a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends to support the 24/7 cement plant production schedule.
Pay is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during the consideration process.
The Production Supervisor directly supervises production employees, contractors, and outside haulers during on‑site delivery.
Safety and compliance are of paramount importance, requiring a thorough understanding of federal, state, and industry safety regulations, as well as company and site safety and housekeeping standards.
The Production Supervisor optimizes plant equipment, troubleshoots and resolves production, process, and quality issues, supervises equipment maintenance, drives safety and housekeeping performance, and interacts with others daily.
This position supports a good standing in the community, promotes sustainable operations, and upholds all company policies, safety standards, and federal/state regulations.
Responsibilities- Directly responsible for the safety and well‑being of all production employees, contractors, and outside haulers.
- Understand and comply with applicable federal, state, industry, company, and site safety regulations and standards.
- Assist the Site Manager and/or Production Manager with root cause analysis reports, preventive maintenance activities, critical spares list, and incident investigations.
- Assist the Production and Maintenance Managers in planning and executing maintenance, including during major and minor turn‑arounds/outages.
- Demonstrate leadership in 5S and lean manufacturing by improving housekeeping and organizing equipment, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Directly responsible for the training and skill development of all employees.
- Maintain documentation including daily and weekly plans, workplace examinations, mobile equipment checks, risk assessments, task training records, and permits.
- Work with the Production Manager and/or Site Manager on procedures and best practices.
- Communicate daily objectives and plans to direct reports and ensure all daily activities align with those goals.
- Set clear expectations for direct reports, provide support to meet those expectations, and evaluate performance.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude while working with direct reports, co‑workers, peers, customers, haulers, and others.
- Act as a team player who works cooperatively with others.
- Effectively troubleshoot problems in production, process, quality, and equipment in cooperation with the Production Manager, ensuring problems are rectified and downtime is minimized.
- Possess good working knowledge of operating a computer and various software used by the company.
- Be willing to receive training and cover for the Production Manager and Customer Service Representative as needed.
- Other duties may be required and will be assigned as necessary.
- High school diploma; college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience (manufacturing/plant or mining environment preferred).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, building rapport with all team members and external departments.
- Must be able to work as part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in the functional area and overall plant operations.
- Must be able to meet on‑call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation.
- Can‑do attitude and positive outlook.
- Must have good leadership skills.

- Ability to pass pre‑employment screening, which includes a physical, background check, and a ten‑panel drug screen.
- Three years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial work environment.
