Outside Material Handler

OUTSIDE MATERIAL HANDLER — DYERSVILLE, IA

$20/HOUR | 1ST SHIFT

MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:30-5PM

MAY BE FLEXIBLE ON HOURS, BUT CONSISTENT

• Responsible for the movement of products of materials between buildings as determined/instructed by the Receiving Manager.
• Responsible for monitoring and keeping accurate inventory through the company computer inventory system and through reporting physical locations.
• Unloading/Loading all incoming/outgoing flatbeds.
• Loading or unloading trucks outside and inside the production area.
• Report maintenance issues on forklifts or combi’s to the Outside Material Handler Supervisor or Receiving Manager, and perform general maintenance as necessary.
• Responsible for compliance of safety equipment on forklifts and completing any safety daily checklists on the forklifts or combi’s.
• Adhere to all safety or OSHA rules, policies and procedures as it pertain to this position.
• Must be forklift certified through company related training.
• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, banders, hoists/lifting equipment; and forklift certified through company related training.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience with material handling equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guide/policies – verbal and written.
• Knowledge of general material handling practices and safety procedures.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Some computer experience required.
• Must be able to perform shop math (fractions/decimals); read measurement tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push, pull, or carry materials.
• Employees will regularly be required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, kneel/crouch, and sit throughout shift.
• Ability to work in various climates/weather conditions, inside and outside. Moderate noise levels.
