Essential Functions- Ensure production safety, product quality, and maximum operating efficiency.
- Conduct troubleshooting and adjustments on molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and processes to produce quality parts.
- Maintain machines and molds, including setup, removal, and full startup after mold changes.
- Mix material, keep hoppers full, and manage quality checks and paperwork.
- Operate equipment such as hand trucks for moving finished products and the capability to clean, grind, and load molds.
- Follow ISO and other quality management systems, keep a personal tool kit, and handle all related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for troubleshooting molding process-making adjustments to the machine, auxiliary equipment, to produce quality parts.
- Responsible for troubleshooting machines – ensuring proper operation to produce quality parts.
- Responsible for troubleshooting auxiliary equipment – ensuring all equipment functions properly.
- Answer alarm alerts on machines.
- Responsible for mold set‑up and removal.
- Responsible for mold and machine maintenance.
- Responsible for mixing material.
- Ensure machine hoppers are full of material.
- Input and extract information from the computer.
- Complete paperwork related to production, processing, quality, and scrap.
- Qualify quality checks.
- Use SPC knowledge.
- Conduct a full start‑up after a mold is set up.
- Train new mechanics on the machines and the process.
- Pull skids of finished product from the production floor to the Q‑area with a hand truck.
- Clean the area around machines.
- Grind parts and runners for reuse or resale.
- Follow ISO and Quality Management Systems.
- Maintain own tools and toolbox.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Mechanical aptitude for line maintenance.
- Demonstrated processing capabilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures.
- Handle cleaning solvents, polishing compounds, grease and oil.
- Understand molding, tooling, and machinery terminology for competent communication.
- Slide mold plates of varying weights when cleaning, assembling, or disassembling.
- Move parts or molds from production floor to repair area using a hand truck or cart.
- Lift boxes (up to 35 lb) from floor level to ~5 ft. high; stack-packed as needed.
- Push barrels up to 300 lb onto tumblers to mix material.
- Dump partial barrels into other barrels or gaylords.
- Use calipers, depth gauges, micrometers, and magna lines to accurately measure dimensions of finished products and tooling.
- Climb ladders for color changes.
- Use analytical ability to solve problems and execute a considered plan.
- Verically inspect parts for defects.
- Follow all General Manufacturing Practice procedures.
- Identify and report violations and unsafe conditions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations such as fire and accident.
- Follow all Department procedures and directives.
