SummaryDescription
Performs assembly and disassembly of wind turbine power transmissions and their subassemblies. Works from blueprints, parts lists and assembly cards. Uses parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, fork trucks, hand and power tools. Can work alone, with other assemblers, and oversees lower grade assemblers. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Necessary Prior Experience- Basic Knowledge of Lean
- General shop safety training
- Shop computers
- Parts washer use
- Crane operation and safety
- Proper use of chains, shackles, and straps; must have the ability to be trained by peers
- Oven or induction heaters operation and use.
- Hydraulic torque wrench use in including torque specifications
- Proper loctite use. (sealants)
- Measuring equipment use (mic's, veneres, ect.)
- Knowledge of bearings
A combination of formal education, training and experience to acquire knowledge and skills generally equivalent to those possessed by an experienced high school graduate. Typically 0‑2 years prior experience in applicable industries. High School or GED.
