About The Role
Duro-Last Roofing, the world’s largest manufacturer of prefabricated roofing systems, has an opening for a Production Supervisor at their Sigourney, Iowa plant. The ideal candidate will have Lean manufacturing experience with an emphasis on Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Kanban, and Root Cause Analysis. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and have the ability to motivate others. This is a full-time, salary-based position that participates in the VIP Bonus Plan with a target of 5%.
The position reports to the Iowa Plant Manager.
What You Will Be Doing
- Train and coach employees to operate equipment safely and follow all safety/SOPs.
- Lead, support, and hold employees accountable to produce high-quality products.
- Monitor production to eliminate defects and ensure quality, defect-free products.
- Monitor scrap and implement plans to minimize it.
- Responsible for shift OEE and equipment output.
- Write and review employee performance and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Support Lean, 5S, and World Class initiatives.
What Are We Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3-5 years of manufacturing supervisory or lead experience.
- Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, including Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Kanban, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Safety and quality-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to schedule production effectively.
- Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
