Job Summary:

The Sanitation is responsible for Cleaning of the processing plant and equipment, while at the same time insuring that the eggs will be handled properly insuring quality.

Essential Job Functions:

• Follow Hen Haven’s program as it relates to handling product and packaging material to meet or exceed the customer requirements, such as, but not limited to:
• Responsible for cleanliness of entire processing department.
• Machines must be cleaned to the per company standards
• All facilities and rooms are to be cleaned
• All waste and trash disposed of daily and properly
• Responsible for cleanliness of shower areas
• All showers are to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
• All towels, uniforms, and supplies are to be stocked.
• All facilities cleaned daily
• Comply with all USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies and Procedures and Food Defense Programs.
• Track product inventories:
  Cleaning supplies and Chemicals
• Schedule regular cleaning of all facility surfaces including but not limited to ceilings, walls, and floors.
• Immediately report any mechanical problems or poor quality conditions to Supervisor or Maintenance staff where help is needed for repairs
• Resolve as many immediately-correctable issues as possible in the course of his/her normal daily activities
• Help others where needed
• Value your safety and the safety of your co-workers
• Follow all safety rules and conditions
• Report all unsafe conditions to the plant supervisor immediately
• Understand how to safely operate the equipment in your area
• Assist in creating a One-Team environment by communicating effectively with all plant supervision and staff.
• Perform all other tasks as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Prior egg grading machine experience an plus but not mandatory
• Reading and comprehensive skills necessary to follow instructions, and document
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to twist and bend
• Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time on different surfaces, including concrete
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must be able to reach and lift above the head
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
