Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Line Operators for a fishing line manufacturing company in Spirit Lake, Iowa. In this role, you'll set up, adjust, and operate multiple spooler machines while helping produce quality fishing line. If you enjoy hands-on work, have mechanical aptitude, and want reliable Monday-Friday hours with weekly pay, this job could be a great fit. Read below for more information!
WhatYou'll Do as a Line Operator
- Set up, adjust, and operate multiple spooler machines for continuous production
- Select the appropriate spooler and materials for production orders
- Monitor equipment and adjust level winds and elevator speeds as needed
- Check supply spools, fishing line, and weights to ensure quality requirements are met
- Load and position supply spools and return empty spools to designated pallets
- Enter completed production data into the computer and stage products for the next step
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and support continuous improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or GED, 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to make minor machine adjustments
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills, including calculations using units of weight
- Ability to use an Object List to determine appropriate production materials
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Good judgment and basic problem-solving skills
