A Day in the Shop Set up and operate manual machine tools to produce accurate parts.

Machine new and used metal components to precise dimensions and tolerances.

Perform layout work directly from blueprints, sketches, and templates.

Calculate dimensions, tapers, feeds, speeds, and overall machining requirements before cutting.

Make and repair as required to support production and maintenance needs.

Dismantle, assemble, align, and repair plant equipment with care and accuracy.

Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, levels, and protractors to verify quality.

Operate cranes and mobile equipment safely when lifting or moving work pieces.

Complete all required reports and documentation to close out each job.
