Scheduling and Materials Manager

As a scheduling and materials manager, you will be responsible for implementing processes and managing all aspects of materials flow and maintaining control and accuracy over all goods inventories, while ensuring the timeliness of transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, warehouse, distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

The Scheduling and Materials Manager also directs production and inventory control, and material storage.

• Overall management of production scheduling, using several data points (Production schedule in Epicor, customer priority, material availability, material utilization, workflow efficiency, and solid rational reasoning) as the basis for determining production priorities
• Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, sales, production and/or engineering
• Distribute production schedules or work order to Operation Manager office
• Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to develop the best economic strategy for production planning to support customer demand
• Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control
• Coordinate and work with quality, engineering, and operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues
• Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future
• Assists in training new hires with clocking in and out of ERP system
• Ensures up to date system changes with bin location, minimum on hand and lot sizes
• Participate as a member of the leadership team in making cross-functional operational decisions
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Highly computer literate, with experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs and ERP (familiarity with Epicor ERP systems a definite plus)

• Bachelor's degree in business, management, or other related fields
• At least 5 years progressive experience in management of materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Excellent time management
• Relevant industry experience is a definite plus, but not required
